Coldest Days of the Season in the Forecast

Every year when school starts, I watch with much displeasure as the cold temperatures creep closer and closer to Tennessee. I love the warm weather, and whenever the high temperature is forecast to dip below 60 degrees, I become a pansy. I suppose it is evident that I will never live where it is cold all the time.....just wait though, I'm going to marry someone from some frigid state near the Canada border and she is going to want to move up there. Who knows.

Regardless, it is a tradition in the state of Tennessee for the meteorologists in our area to forecast noticeably colder weather in November. This year it is no different. In reading a weather blog posted by a local news station in Chattanooga today, I discovered the news that the coldest temperatures of the season thus far are now in the 7-day forecast.

After a cool, breezy Thanksgiving day, temperatures are forecast to warm up to the low/mid-60s by the weekend in preparation for the next storm system. The talk of flurries in the Smoky Mountains Thanksgiving evening was discussed, but it should not pose any major problems.

Showers return on Monday with a break on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to be cooler with the rain. On Wednesday, a strong cold front is expected to bring heaver rain to the Tennessee area. High temperatures on the other side of the front are expected to dip into the upper-40s. It is not out of the question for some areas to see some flurries flying around on Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

I say it with much reluctance......time to break out the winter clothes!
